Carmel Valley Fire Protection District will be adopting the 2007 version of the California Fire Code with amendments. The proposed ordinance and amendments are available for download below:
If you are building or remodeling within the Carmel Valley Fire Protection District, we require that you meet various building and fire codes. These codes are designed for your safety and the overall fire safety of those who live in the fire district. Inspections will check for compliance to all applicable codes for your residence or business. We recommend you download all three of the following documents:
1. Monterey County Building and Planning Fire Conditions
2. How to prepare for your final inspection
During California's wildland fire season, state law requires that homeowners maintain a defensible space around their home.
